About Nuru International
The Nuru Ecosystem
Nuru International is part of a nonprofit ecosystem creating a more just and equitable world by incubating locally-led, owned, and sustained organizations in sub-Saharan Africa. These implementing organizations – Nuru Kenya, Nuru Ethiopia, and Nuru Nigeria – cultivate enabling environments for stability and economic opportunity.
Through solutions customized to their unique contexts, these organizations help rural communities lift themselves out of extreme poverty by helping farmers build resilience to unwavering shocks, moving from farming for subsistence to thriving farmer-owned and -led cooperative agribusinesses.
Nuru International is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, public benefit charity.
Nuru International’s mission is to build resilience corridors by eradicating poverty and unlocking economic potential within fragile communities in the Sahel to stop the spread of violent extremism by 2030.
The Nuru ecosystem is united under a shared vision to cultivate lasting meaningful choices in the most vulnerable and marginalized communities in the world.
